Organic Newborn Baby Blanket

This organic cotton newborn blanket is for my soon-to-be-here son. I have listed the supplies and pattern below. You can make your own substitutions, but I highly recommend the Blue Sky Alpacas 100% Organic Cotton Yarn. It is so soft and is not died. The color choices are the actual color of the cotton. (They do suggest that you not machine wash the yarn, but I did on the gentle cycle and it came out fine.) This is the first pattern I have made, so feel free to ask questions or offer suggestions. My finished piece measured about 25in x 25in.

That looks great Sarah. There's nothing like a handmade blanket.

I used the same yarn in green and cream to make the baby blanket in the first Stitch and Bitch book. It was really easy, although it took forever. It was way better than buying a gift off the registry, too.
